Nursing is a physical job that can take a toll on your muscles. Back and neck pain are not uncommon, especially if you’re in a nursing job that requires a lot of lifting and assisting with movement. To combat those common aches and pains, it helps to wear supportive footwear. Find shoes that allow you to be on your feet for long periods without pain. Treat yourself to a massage on your days off. Be sure to stretch before your shift to keep your muscles loose and flexible. Finally, don’t ignore your pain. Do your best to treat it and seek out medical help if it’s significant or unmanageable.
