As with any industry, the healthcare industry is benefitted by a diverse range of ideas, input, and interactions. Nursing in particular is no exception, and diversity plays a critical role in providing all patients with the quality and specific kind of care that they need.
Patients come from a broad range of cultural backgrounds, and the healthcare industry should also reflect that in order to best serve the needs of their clients. Nurses bring their own unique experiences to the field, and this only serves to strengthen it.
Diversity should and must be valued in nursing in order to ensure a strong system that represents patients from all walks of life and that is capable of serving their unique healthcare needs.
