As any medical professional knows, working as a nurse in the healthcare field comes with some health and safety risks. Nurses are exposed to a variety of hazards every day, and if proper protocols aren’t followed, it can result in illness, accident, or injury.
Workplace safety should always be a priority for employers. Employers have a duty to follow all federal, state, and local safety guidelines, and should make all of their employees aware of the potential risks.
While responsibility does lie with employers, nurses and other staff members can demonstrate that they prioritize workplace safety by following all guidelines and regulations, and encouraging their coworkers to do the same.
