Sometimes nurses find themselves working a tough temporary schedule. It could be a shift that you simply aren’t used to working, and that can be difficult on your personal life and your sleep schedule.
To power through those challenging times, try to get enough sleep. Plan as much as you can in advance, and if you have a household with children to maintain, try to enlist the help of family members and friends. Prepare meals in advance so that the family has good food to eat, and so that you have meals to bring to work.
Remember that the schedule isn’t permanent, and eventually, you’ll be back on a schedule that better suits your lifestyle.
